I always get emotional when it comes to my kid. I can’t control myself completely, and then my heart hurts as if it were stabbed.
“Where are you?” Leon Hua was asking again the question that had been asked before.
Since he wouldn’t tell me about the child, I didn’t want to go on with him any longer. So I hung up the phone.
But he soon called again, and when I refused to answer, he just kept on calling.
I knew he’s stubborn, but I was not someone who can be messed with easily. I didn’t turn off my phone either, because I was afraid that the tour guide wouldn’t be able to reach me. I just kept the phone vibrating.
But clearly, I underestimated his patience. I closed my eyes and rested for a while, and 20 minutes later, he was still calling!
I couldn’t stand it anymore, so I picked up the phone and cursed impatiently, “Are you crazy? Are you done with that?”
“Little sister, why are you so angry? Who provoked you?”
The voice sounded different, it was Wenbei Su talking. I looked at the phone again, and confirmed it was Wenbei calling.
“Nothing, Second Brother. I thought it was someone else bothering me while I am talking a rest. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to shout at you.” I quickly apologized.
“It’s okay. Who’s been bothering you? I asked them to arrange a good hotel for you, didn’t they?”
“Yes they did, Second Brother, they did arrange the best hotel in Ning City for me. They have nothing to do with it. It’s my problem.”
“Then who has provoked you? Shall I send for someone to handle it?” Wenbei asked with concern.
“Don’t bother, really, I was just in a bad mood and I’m all right now.”
“I arranged you to go with the tour group to experience because It’s a good way to relax yourself. If it makes you unhappy, why not come back?”
“Second Brother, I’m really fine now, and I am not unhappy, please don’t worry about me.” Right at the moment there was a beep on my phone, which seemed like another call was coming in.
“Well, if you have any problems, just give me a call. If you’re having a bad time, just come back anytime. Don’t force yourself.” Wenbei said softly.
“Thank you, Second Brother, I will.”
I felt a little better after talking with Wenbei. It felt good and warm to be cared for, and it could make people feel less depressed.
But when Leon called again, I just hung up. Then he texted me, “Send me your location and I’ll come for you.”
I replied to him, “There is no relation between us any more, please leave me alone.”
He asked why.
I replied, “Why don’t you get it? Don’t bother me any more, I am tired of seeing you.”
It must have sounded so rude because he just stopped texting, the phone just stopped ringing too and I could finally have peace.
Later that day, the guide called and asked if I would like to join him for a group meal. It was quite some distance from here, besides I didn’t want to go, so I said, “I’ll just eat here, enjoy yourselves.”
The tour guide said, “Alright, there is hardly any schedule today, and tomorrow morning at 8, 30, please wait at the hotel lobby, we will come to pick you up.”
It meant there’s nothing left to do today. I had to stay at the hotel by myself until tomorrow morning. So I planned to go down and get something to eat in the cafeteria.
I got changed and went out of the room. It was the rush hour and there were a lot of people. Not wanting to be with too many people, I intended to go back to my room and come down again later.
I stood in front of the door of my room and took out the card to open the door, but failed after trying twice. I was about to go to the front desk and ask the staff to take care of it when suddenly the door opened from the inside. I was shocked. How could anyone be in my room?
However, what surprised me even more was the man who just opened the door from the inside!
Fair skin, delicate facial features, and beautiful peach-blossom eyes, It was Leon Hua!
He didn’t expect it was me, either, but the next second his lips went up slightly, “How do you know I am here? Are you coming to see me?”
“This is my room. Why are you here? How did you get in?” I said angrily.
“What? Your room? This is my room. Come in as you please, and I was just looking for you, too.” Leon said.
I checked my card and it read 3017. Then I looked at the room number and it read 3018! Oh, my God, how blind I was to have gone to the wrong room! And besides, I had been using my dining card to open the door, no wonder it said the card was invalid!
“Do you think I’m asleep so you want to slide in and spy on me?” He continued, “You don’t have to, just come in and I can show you everything you want to see.”
For a moment, I didn’t know how to explain it. Even if I jumped into the Yellow River, I couldn’t wash the bad name off me..
“I just took the wrong room card, I’m staying next door, and I am not coming for you, nor am I the filthy person you think I am.” I turned around and was about to leave, but my arm got grabbed by him.
“I’m staying at this hotel and you followed me here, what’s more, you’re staying next door. Do you still deny coming to see me? Stop pretending, come on in.” Leon started to pull me in.
I held on to the door to keep myself from being pulled in. And at the same time I shouted for help.
This hotel security was really professional, when Leon and I were pulling and hauling, the guards probably had seen it all from the monitor, so two security guards immediately showed up and asked me if I needed any help.
“This man is dragging me into his room.” I pointed at Leon and said.
“What’s the matter, Sir?” The guard asked Leon with caution.
“She’s my wife. It’s certainly normal for her to come into my room.” Leon said with a cold face.
The two tall security guards looked at me, seeking my confirmation.
“He’s lying. I don’t know him. If he pesters me again, call the police for me.” I said in a loud voice.
“Nala Yao, you…” Leon looked furious.
I took my room card, opened the door of my own room and then shut the door. Soon the doorbell was ringing again. I knew it must be Leon so I just ignored him.
He tried a few more times and finally quit. Then his message came, “Nala Yao, you are going too far!”
I was going too far? How about him? When I was in prison, he had the divorce papers sent for me to sign, didn’t he think he was going too far, too? How could he accuse me when I remained silent about it?
I ignored him and didn’t reply to his message. Neither did he call back.
After a while, it was getting dark and I was really getting hungry. But I was afraid Leon might be waiting for me by the door so I didn’t dare to go out.
After checking through the peep-eye and made sure that he was not there, I went out and headed to the dining room. But as soon as I got into the lift, a man squeezed in right after me, and it was Leon. I had no idea where he had been hiding, but I was positive that he’d been waiting for an opportunity. He finally caught me.
“I thought you don’t get hungry, turns out you actually do!” He had expected that I would come out for dinner.
