Ying Hua could do nothing towards such a threat from Mu Chen. She just told him to f**k off.
After Mu left, Ying and I stood on the rooftop, looking at the city lights. Then Ying suddenly offered a cigarette to me, but I told her that I didn’t know how to smoke. She put one in her mouth and took out her windproof lighter. Then she took a puff.
I didn’t expect her to smoke, for she was a doctor.
Smoking was obviously harmful to health which doctors had always rejected. But she was an exception.
“I don’t smoke too often and I don’t have an addiction. I’ll smoke one when I feel bored.” Ying seemed to read my mind, “Don’t think that women who smoke aren’t good women, which is a silly prejudice. Of course, it’s true that I’m not a good woman.”
I laughed, “You look good when you smoke. I never thought you were a bad woman either. You’re one of the most charming women I’ve ever met.”
The smoke she exhaled quickly blown away by the wind. Hearing my praise, she laughed cheerfully, “Nala Yao, you’ve really turned bad. You’re getting better at complimenting people.”
“Ying, you shouldn’t let Mr. Chen jump out of the building in the future. If he succeeds one day, you will get in trouble.” I said with a smile.
“It’s not the first time. I’ve often let him jump, but he doesn’t make it till now.” What Ying said surprised me.
“Often?” I was shocked.
“Pretty much. Anyway, I want him to go die and he agrees all the time, but has never succeeded. It’s not that he is unwilling to die, it’s that I won’t let him.” Ying said at ease.
I was a little confused, “Then why do you always let him go die?”
“Because I hate him.” Ying answered simply.
I nodded, “And why didn’t you let him actually die?”
“Death was not enough for him. I was pushed off a cliff by him. Then I lay on the bed for two years and my life was worse than death. After one year and so, I could barely regain the ability to walk. How can I let him die so easily after I’ve suffered so much?”
Speaking this, her tone was of no emotion, with no obvious hatred. Or maybe it was because those hatreds were already in her bones and were only to release slowly, not to gush out violently.
“So, what you have done is just to torture him?” I said curiously.
“Pretty much. But he takes it so seriously that he has to actually go die every time. Don’t you think he’s stupid?” Ying exhaled another smoke.
I shook my head, “I don’t think so. I do think that Mr. Chen really feels guilty about you. That’s why he’s really going to die.”
“He should feel guilty, shouldn’t he?” Ying was full of hatred.
I nodded again, but this time I didn’t say anything. I knew very little about their past, and it was hard to judge.
“Alright, let’s go back.” Ying threw the cigarette down and ground it under her heel .
Entering the elevator, Ying suddenly said, “By the way, how did Mu know we were here? And he’s so well-prepared?”
I panicked and my expression was extremely unnatural, “Yeah, how did he get here so fast?”
“Either you or Leon Hua told him about this, or the two of you together planned it.” Ying said.
I was a little frantic.
Ying was a smart person who has experienced too much, so she had insight into human nature. I couldn’t succeed in lying her.
If I continued to pretend, I worried she would resent me, and I didn’t want her to resent me.
The person who started this was Leon and he was the one who had to take the blame for.
“Sister Ying, it’s Leon who told me to tell Mu. He said that that man isn’t good enough for you, but he didn’t want to piss you off, so he let Mu be the bad guy. Then you two would break up.”
Ying gave a big laugh, “You just betrayed your husband like this? I haven’t even forced you to confess yet, but you tell me all about the whole thing.”
I smiled apologetically, “I’m sorry, Ying. I really cannot go against Leon. I have to listen to him, otherwise he’ll look for trouble.”
“Don’t be. In fact, I know you guys care about me, otherwise you wouldn’t have to put in so much effort to do it. I understand it all. I’m not a fool.” Ying said with a smile.
I was so relieved that she could think like that.
“Ying, that Yu Yi, actually…”
Ying interrupted me, “Do you really think I will marry him? I just wanted to see how you guys would react to me if I made such a mess, but I didn’t expect you guys really cooperated to make a such show.”
“So, you’re testing us? Or just a test for Mr. Chen?”
“I’m just for fun, for life is so boring. How can I keep on without messing around a bit? Do you really think I’m a dummy that I would Marry a little dog like Yu? I’m just teasing him. Not just about marrying him, I wouldn’t even let him touch my hand, okay?”
“So, we’ve all fallen for your trick. Sister Ying, you are too much this time. You’ve cheated us all and Mr. Chen almost jumped out of a building because of it.”
Ying laughed again, “Mu isn’t as simple as you think. Maybe he’s acting too.”
When we walked out of the restaurant, Mu and his men were already gone.
When we were about to go to the parking area and drive away, a black Audi drove up. The person who got out of the car was Yu.
“Ying, are you okay?” Yu seemed to deeply concern about her.
It seemed that this guy wasn’t young or innocent, but he’s still very scheming. He should have been observing nearby, finding out that when Mu and his men had left, he could show up.
I thought Ying would respond with a cold face, but I didn’t expect Ying to smile, “I’m fine, how about you? Didn’t they make you feel embarrassed?”
I was wondering that Ying was too tolerant for this. Didn’t she forget what just had happened upstairs?
“I’m fine, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to leave you behind and I just wanted to get out of here as fast as I could, so I could call the police to save you guys. I’m not that kind of man who is afraid of death.” Yu spoke quickly to defend herself.
Ying even smiled and nodded her head in recognition, “I understand. You’re trying to handle the whole situation. You made the right choice. Let’s call it a day and we’ll meet again another day.”
“Fine, then I’ll meet you for dinner tomorrow.” Yu was even happier.
“Okay, bye.” Ying walked towards the parking area. I followed her and I couldn’t help but mutter, “Why bother with this kind of person?”
“Don’t you think it’s funny? Don’t you think his acting is clumsy and funny? This kind of people who treat everyone like idiots are the funniest ones, for they think they’re so smart, but they’re the stupidest people in the world. If I get him out of here, how can I find the fun? It will then be too boring, won’t it?” Ying laughed.
I exhaled, “Well, it’s your fun. I’m afraid that although you’re just teasing him, Mr. Chen Mu will hound him to death.”
Ying laughed, “That’s none of my business then.”
