I scorned with a humph, this guy was too narcissistic to describe.
“I’m quite tired, a couple of drinks would loosen me up to sleep, drink together?” said Leon.
“What do you think I’m drinking now?” I swirled the glass.
His fair face blushed from alcohol, the bewitching eyes were also blurred, he was indeed a good-looking guy.
Books always mention the drunk beauty while the drunk handsome guys are also pretty in their own way, especially for guys like Leon. He was no more formidable but a real and good-looking man while he was resting his long leg in drunk-cozy.
“Don’t look, drink,” he reached out the glass clicked mine.
I drank some.
It was the end of summer, the temperature varies greatly from morning to evening, a bit of coldness swept through the silent night.
“The stuff you write wasn’t your intention, right?” he suddenly brought that up.
“No,” I simply answered.
“Then why did you write it?”
“Someone made me, they threaten me with Alex, I was not sure if he was really in danger, but I can’t take the risk, so I have to follow their instructions for anything they asked.”
Leon held his tongue for a while.
And then he asked suddenly, “If someday they threaten you with the kid, and ask you to kill me, will you do that?”
He got me by asking the question, I had never thought about that before.
“What a boring question? Most people ask that who would you rescue if your mom and I were drowning in the river? but yet you ask me to choose between you and our son, this thought is sick,” said I, annoyed.
“If you had to, what’s your decision?” Leon pushed.
“I think that you are drunk, I can’t make the choice.”
“Cut the crap, just say it,” his temper was coming up.
Leon was not easy to cope with while he was sober and worsen in drunk, a demon-like existence I couldn’t afford to offend.
“Then I’ll go with the kid,” I said timidly.
Silence fell again, I looked worried at him and wanted to explain, then he opened his mouth, said the deep voice, “That’s right.”
I was relieved.
“The kid has the priority at all times. If the option were between you and the kid, I will take the kid too, keep that in your mind,” said Leon.
I didn’t want to talk about this anymore, this was getting too heavy.
“Let’s drop this, talk about something else.”
Leon moved to a new position, “Who kidnapped you? and where did they take you to? Why couldn’t I find the place?”
“Somewhere far and wild, hard to find,” afraid he was going to set the fire, I was not going to tell him about the temple. It was too violent to let him do that.
“Who is behind this?” asked Leon.
“Needless to say, you should have a clue, who else can be but the few ones.”
“Aunt Xiang?”
I kept quiet as acquiescence.
“Her again!” Leon sprang up from the couch and raised the hand to throw the glass, then I pinned him down, “The wine is costly, so is the glass!”
“Things already happened, do need to mention it again. I haven’t hurt much anyway, and now, I am here safe and sound,” I revived him instead.
“How did you escape?”
“Self-rescued, I’m smart enough, so they could not trap me.”
“Impossible, you can’t escape alone without any help, no matter how smart you are. The kidnappers are not stupid, they had no reason to kidnap you if they could let you get away that easy.”
“The one who watched me was kind-hearted who helped.”
“Then how did you get back to Hai city far from there? And then, why did not you come to tell me in the first place?”
If we kept on this topic, it would bring up Mu Chen.
No, Mu Chen was one of Leon’s most-hated, he would be mad if he knew Mu Chen had taken me back, the drunk Leon was already hard to deal with, no way for him to know about Mu Chen.
“Well, It’s all over, I was about to ask you the same question, why didn’t you come to find me?” I changed the subject.
“I didn’t want to, in the letter you said that you felt nothing with me, so why should I go looking for you?”
This was how Leon was, he had been absent for day to look all over for me, but when I asked him in person, he had never admitted.
That was fine he denied it, that’s the kind of person he was.
“Fine, whatever you like, it’s late, take a rest early. No more drinks, you are getting drunk.”
“I am drunk, so let me finish it before sleep,” Leon poured the alcohol, and leaned his body swiftly, reaching out the hand under my chin, “I got some important to ask, please be honest.”
Drunkenness brought out his blurred eyes, clear and sincere. His close sight made my heart skip a beat.
“What’s the question? Not a choice question again.”
“No need to ask, except our kid, I’m your only choice, there is no one can beat me in the world.”
“Then what is it? Do you go crazy?”
“Not everyone would get crazy while drunk, I have never gone crazy. I just wanted to ask that do you regret to marry me? or, in other words, to live with me?”
I paused to think with the expression on my face.
He was unpleasant with that, he pulled my head into arms, and then bit my lip hard, “This is not something you need take that long to answer.”
“You expect a No as the answer, right?
“Yes.”
“Then I have to say no, I do not regret. You are going to be upset if I said something else.”
Leon hugged me over, held me to his chest, kissing intimately, the wine fragrance spreading in the lips, his hands started to fondle me.
I struggled with a little embarrassment, as the balcony was not a perfect spot for that.
But he ignored, yanked me over, pinned me down to the couch, and had his hands all over me, trying to explore and gnaw each inch of my body.
Called a long breath, I held off his move with all my strength, held his chin with my hands, push him away from the kiss, “I also got a question for you.”
“Wait till tomorrow,” he wanted keeping going.
“No, I need the answer now, who would you pick between Nan Lin and me?”
Leon didn’t answer, “Don’t be a buzzkill.”
I caught him off guard, rolled over, and freed myself, “Never mind if you don’t want to respond, as I already knew the answer.”
I rushed into the bedroom and locked the door before he could realize it, I would not open the door, no matter how he knocked, unless he broke in.
