Chapter 58

Book:Fated To Be His Mate Published:2024-6-2

She gulps down nothing as she stares at him, captivated by his perfect figure. His nipples are tempting, and his perfectly toned abs almost prove to be the sexiest part of his body. She shouldn’t be drooling over him, but can she help it?
“My… My lord…” She stutters nervously, roaming her eyes on his body one more time before turning her face away quickly. Her breath is already hitching as she has some crazy thoughts going on in her mind. Realizing that she’s almost naked, she feels embarrassed, but that’s not the problem now. This man here is still mad at her about what happened, so showing up before him now is like being on a suicide mission. She should’ve just stayed back in her room and gotten some rest, now she has gotten herself into this mess.
He stares at her beautiful body, enchanted by the beauty of her perfect body. Seeing her naked body arouses him as he feels his manhood twitch under the water, but he tries to control it. He has something to say, but his tongue refuses to move as it suddenly feels tied down to her mouth.
Embarrassed, she quickly hurries out of the water and grabs her clothes once she’s out of the water.
“What are you hiding? Not that I haven’t seen it before anyway,” He scoffs, mumbling the last part, and she gulps down nothing as she freezes on the spot. She shuts her eyes tightly, realizing that he has seen her naked before.
Ignoring what he said, she tries to run over to a tree and get dressed behind it, but she stops abruptly as she suddenly feels her head spins. She tries to keep her eyes open, but they feel so heavy to her. She staggers back until she slumps and blacks out…
A few minutes later…
Forcing her eyes open, the familiar ceiling welcomes her, and she needs no one to tell her where she is as she already knows that she’s in the alpha’s room. Her heart sinks into her stomach as the realization of what happened some time ago hits her hard. What if he tries to kill her now? Nobody is here to save her, so he has all the chance in the world to do that, right? For the next few minutes, she refuses to open her eyes for the fear of seeing the alpha. She’s too scared to see him, she wishes that she can disappear into the air, but she has only seen that happen in movies, and even if she had witnessed one or two happen, it definitely can’t be her.
Taking a deep breath, she slowly opens her eyes and tilts her head to her left and right-hand side, and she quickly sits up on the bed upon realizing that she’s the only one in the room. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to run away, right? Standing up from the bed, she starts walking over to the door, trying to make sure that her footsteps don’t make any sound. However, his voice rings through her ears before she can reach the door. Slowly, she turns around to see him sitting on the chair with his attention on a book he’s reading.
She smiles nervously, turning around and staring everywhere else except his face.
“Greetings, my lord,” She bows slightly, trying so hard not to look nervous, but that’ll be stupid of her anyway because it’s written all over her.
“Sit!” His domineering voice echoes in the room, and without wasting another second standing on the spot, she hurries over to the bed and sits on it. Her heart keeps racing rapidly as she fondles with her fingers. Her palms are sweaty, and she feels like she has all the burden of the world on her shoulders.
An awkward silence assumes the atmosphere, and she can’t help getting curious.
After what seemed like forever, he finally drop the book and stand up to his feet, making her heart miss a beat. He walks over to her slowly, and with every step that he takes, she feels her soul leaving her slowly. Will he kill her now? The question keeps ringing in her head as she stares into space, avoiding his gaze.
Seeing the fear written all over her makes him feel guilty, and regrets his action toward her. He shouldn’t have gone to the extreme length of doing that to her. Now he believes that she truly knows nothing about the poison, and he has made up his mind to find the culprit later and make him or her pay for it. Sitting down next to her on the bed, she moves away from him, and he sighs deeply.
“Are you mad at me?” He asks softly, as his hand crawl to her back, removing the sleeve of her dress, and revealing the scars on her back. They’re the injuries from the whip, and they’re yet to heal completely. She panics when she feels his hand on her bare back.
“Hmm…” She shakes her head in denial, but why is he finding it difficult to believe her? Is it just his guilty conscience that is messing with him now or she hasn’t forgiven him yet?
“Does it hurt?” He asks almost in a whisper, staring at the bruises with pain and guilt written on his face. Seeing the bruises on her hurts his heart so deeply.
“A little,” She replies to him sincerely, and he sighs briefly.
“I’m sorry…” He says to her after a long silence, and she slowly raises her gaze to look at him in shock.
“What can I do to make it up to you? I feel like I have committed the biggest crime, and I feel like a cruel man for doing this to you. Will you forgive me?” He further asks, and she smiles softly. Here she was thinking that he’ll be mad at her but turns out that she was wrong.
“I really didn’t do it… I didn’t poison you… Do you believe me? That’s enough for me,” She says as tears well up in her eyes.
“Shhhhhh! I believe you. I’m sorry for doubting you in the first place… I’m sorry for not trusting you, and I’m sorry for hurting you. I… I am…” She suddenly leans forward and plants a soft kiss on his lips, cutting him off.
“It’s fine,” She whispers, and he smiles softly. Staring into her eyes, an exciting smile spreads on his lips, and he slowly leans close to her and claims her lips, kissing her slowly and softly like his life depends on it.
The door suddenly burst open, and Dean barges in, but he stops on his track when he sees them kissing…
