After I finished talking with the two shareholders, it was about time. I let them go first, and I took the elevator to the 28th floor.
After presenting my attendance card, I entered the venue.
Although it wasn’t a general meeting of all shareholders, the number of people who came was in the dozens.
I took a seat at the corner of the venue and waited quietly for the meeting to begin.
At this point, Ruoxin Chen also came in, waving to a few of the participants as soon as she entered the venue.
Those people also interacted with her enthusiastically, which could be seen that Miss Chen did have a lot of influences among those people. It was no wonder that she had the confidence to impeach Leon and joined forces with the other shareholders to kick him out.
At this point, there was applause, and it was Yaohui Hua who arrived.
He was the CEO of Hua Group and certainly deserved the applause.
The meeting was almost fully attended. Chenxing Hua presided over the meeting, Leon’s big brother. He was the current director and senior vice-president of the Hua Group, the highest position in the company other than Yaohui Hua.
Leon was also the senior vice president, but he was not a board member, and Chenxing was.
This difference is significant because the group’s major resolutions are voted by the board. Board members have the right to vote, while those outside the board do not. Only those who have the right to vote have the influence to be able to control the cooperation.
After the brief opening remarks, Yaohui Hua, on behalf of the current Board of Directors, made a report to the shareholders on the current business status and development plan of the cooperation.
The morning session ended and people went into lunch break.
Attendees could dine in the company’s staff cafeteria or they could eat out on their own. The meeting continued at 2, 00 pm.
Walking out of the conference room, Chenxing was standing outside waiting for me, “I didn’t expect it was really you.”
I smiled, “Leon asked me to come here and attend the meeting.
Chenxing nodded, “You married Leon, and you have been a member of the Hua family from now on. You should integrate into this family. You’re not familiar with the company, let me take you to the restaurant for dinner.”
“Ok, Thanks you.” I replied with a smile.
The staff cafeteria at Hua Group was really big and clean, like a fancy restaurant.
“Nala, you sit here while I go and get food. What would you like to eat? I’ll get it for you.”
“Thanks you. I’ll do it myself.”
I casually ordered a bowl of porridge, a gazpacho, and sat down at the far corner. At this time, someone else came, and it was Ruoxin Chen again.
“It’s you again? You came to the shareholders’ meeting? What qualifications do you have to come to the meeting?” She pointed at me and asked.
I took a sip of my porridge and ignored her completely, treating her like air.
“Do you dare ignore me? This isn’t a place where you’re supposed to be?
“I am Leon’s wife, a member of the Hua family, isn’t that enough?” I said coldly.
“You….”
I took out my phone and called Leon purposely, “Dear, I’m eating lunch. What are you doing? I miss you.”
“What?” Leon sounded surprised.
I didn’t care how he reacted. I just continued to irritate Ruoxin Chen, “You take a good vacation, I’ll take care of these things. Bye-bye.”
“You’re pretending to show love for Leon in front of me? I don’t believe that Leon Hua would really like you.”
“Does he like you? If he liked you, then why did he have to go with me at your wedding?” I said with a smile.
“We’ll see, I’ll revenge!” Ruoxin Chen said in a hateful voice.
“Then you seek revenge on him, why do you always target me?” I shook my phone, “Miss Chen, don’t forget your indecent video. If my hand shook, I might sent it out. You better not anger me.”
Ruoxin Chen grunted coldly and pointed at me, “Well, we’ll see.”
I was worried that she would come up with some kind of underhanded tactic to screw me during the lunch break, so I ate and went straight back to the conference room. Most of the people were out and only a few of the attendees gathered for conversation after dinner.
I went in and sat back in the corner and few shareholders chatted me up, “I’ve never seen you before, what’s your name?”
It was not a big deal for shareholders of the same company to get to know each other and expand their contacts, so I replied with a smile, “Hello everyone, I’m Nala Yao, nice to meet you all.”
“Nala Yao? The name sounds a little familiar.” One shareholder said. Then he realized, “You’re Fourth Brother’s wife?”
Leon ran away with a woman at his wedding, which was widely spread, so I was a bit famous too. I smiled and nodded, “Yes.”
Several shareholders stood up, shook my hand one by one, and said they all admired Leon and were sorry they didn’t see him at the shareholders meeting today.
The big companies are on the surface of harmony, but in fact the internal interest struggle is fierce. Although these people were polite to me, I couldn’t figure out what was on their minds, so I just chatted politely with them for a while.
I concluded by saying, “If you can support Leon, we are grateful to you. Leon is straight in nature and acts in an unconventional manner, but his initial desire to achieve greater benefits for shareholders has never changed.”
I got to know the company carefully, and when I talked about the company, I actually knew it better than they did. After chatting for a while, I was praised for my insight and ability.
It was hard to tell if a compliment was sincere, and I certainly didn’t take it seriously, but I learned a lot from talking with them.
The meeting continued in the afternoon with statements by shareholders’ representatives.
I saw Ruoxin Chen, who was sitting in the front row, constantly twisting his head to look at the two shareholders who were chatting on the rooftop.
Because she had instructed the two men to take the initiative to remove Leon from his position as senior vice president, but the two men had not acted, just bowing their heads and playing with the pen in their hands.
Ruoxin Chen fidgeted in her seat, and finally she took the microphone directly and asked the two shareholders if they had anything to say.
The two shareholders looked at me and I didn’t say anything, and then one of them said that they had nothing to say.
She was furious and said, “There is something I’d like to discuss with you shareholders.”
Everyone’s eyes were on her, and I knew that her plan to instruct someone else to impeach Leon had failed and she had to do it herself.
“The vice president of the Group, Leon Hua, was previously involved in a murder case, which caused him to be unable to attend the shareholders’ meeting even today. How can such a person hold a high position in our group? How can someone of such bad character be trusted by shareholders? We’re sure that Mr. Hua won’t be partial to him, right? Shouldn’t the group be considering removing him as its vice-president at Hua Group? Or even fire him?”
Suddenly, the whole room was silent.
Leon was Yaohui Hua’s son, so Ruoxin Chen first kept Yaohui Hua quiet, making him unable to speak for Leon.
As long as Mr. Hua didn’t say anything, and then almost no one in the room would dare to defend Leon because no one would want to offend Miss Chen, who had a background.
I raised my hand, “May I say something, please?”
So the person’s attention turned to me again. I had been sitting in a corner and few, if any, had noticed me.
Hearing that someone was going to say something, everyone knew that someone was going to argue with her, and many people waited to see what would happen.
The staff member handed me the microphone. Ruoxin Chen’s eyes were filled with hatred as she stared at me, but she couldn’t stop me from speaking. I just liked the way she hated me but couldn’t do anything to me.
