For some seconds, she freezes on the spot with her eyes widen. She blinks her eyes twice to be sure that she’s not dreaming, and hell yeah, it’s not a dream.
Slowly, her eyes close and she starts reciprocating the kiss. If this is a dream, then it better last forever. Her heart pumps violently against her chest as his soft lips send a spark through her body. Her breath hitches, but she tries to keep it in check and balance it.
Meanwhile, Damien has his right hand at the back of her neck, and the other one on her waist, as he deepens the kiss. He so much wants to control himself and stop this, knowing he would regret it later, but the more he tries to resist her, the more he finds himself getting charmed by her lips and everything about her.
Her head spins crazily when his tongue delves into her mouth and explores every corner of it. This feeling is out of the world, and she doesn’t want it to stop.
Slowly, he pulls away from her and turns his back at her, running his fingers through his hair. What the heck did he just do? He just kissed Nicolai’s daughter! He’s supposed to hate her for everything her father has done to them in the past, why the heck must he fall in love with her of all people?
She stares at him confusingly, wondering what could be wrong with him.
“I’ll call you when I need anything. You may leave now,” He says politely, trying his best not to yell at her. He’s so angry, not at anyone, but himself. Isn’t he a disgrace? Won’t his father be mad at him anywhere he is?
Her face drops sadly as she slowly turns around and walks out of the room. Although she has no idea why he was like that, it was obvious enough that he wasn’t happy that he kissed her.
Stepping out of the room, she releases the breath she has been holding unknowingly before walking away, after taking another glance at the closed door…
Back in Damien’s room…
Slowly, he places his hand on his chest as his heart races violently. Taking a deep breath, he walks over to the bed and sits on the edge, burying his face in between his palms and lost in thoughts. The incident of moments ago keeps replaying in his head, and no matter how much he tries to get rid of it, nothing seems to be working. He kissed her, but what’s more disturbing is the fact that he still wants to do it over and over again.
“What’s wrong with you, Damien?” He mumbles, covering his face with his two palms. Again, the chest pain hit him, and he quickly clutches his chest. He tries to balance his breath, but it’s difficult to do. His eyes suddenly become red from the excruciating pain in his chest, and he lay back on the bed.
“Greetings, my lord,” The physician’s voice sounds from outside, pulling him back to reality, and he ushers him in.
The physician walks in with a suspicious expression on his face.
The pain finally subsides, and he manages to sit up on the bed as he waits for the physician to talk.
“My lord, there’s a problem…” The physician says amid sighs, and Damien stands up to his feet with a curious expression on.
“Speak!” He orders him.
“The pain… It’s the poison of wolfsbane…” The physician drops the bombshell, and he freezes on the spot as his eyes slowly widen in shock. Where did he get that from?
United States
Dean’s apartment…
Standing inside the garden and staring at the garden, is Dean. He has been thinking a lot lately, still finding it difficult to get the incident of weeks ago off his mind. He has tried to track down the werewolf that had poisoned him, but he still hasn’t been able to get a hold of him or her even until now, and it’s bothering him.
Who is he? What does he want from him? Who sent him, and why would he poison him? Those are the questions he has been asking himself since the incident, but he can’t come up with any possible reason to judge this.
His mind wanders off to the thought of Lydia, and he sighs briefly. He hasn’t gotten the chance to speak with her after the incident. Of course, she has been the one handling his company while he has been at home, trying to recover from the life-threatening poison that was given to him. Maybe he would’ve been dead now if Lydia didn’t help him.
Still lost in thoughts, the familiar scent he would always recognize fills the atmosphere, and he tilts his head to see Lydia walking up to him.
“How’re you feeling now?” She asks as soon as she walks in, standing beside him and staring at the garden. She has been staying with him lately in a bid to look after him and makes sure that he’s fine.
“I’m fine,” He replies to her. He glances at her and sighs deeply. He has millions of questions running through his mind, he has a lot to ask her, and maybe knows who she is and why she’s in his life, but he has no idea where he should start.
“I’m sorry for keeping this from you all along…” She begins, but pauses and bites her bottom lip. She has a lot to tell him about herself, her life story, why she ended up here in the first place, and why she’s working with him. She wants to tell him all of her motives, but won’t it endanger her life and that of her brother? She has to save her mother, but at the same time, she needs to protect the man that she loves. Although she has no idea why they’re after his life, she doesn’t want anything to happen to this man.
He glances at her with a curious expression on his face. Maybe she’s finally going to tell him what he has been craving for, maybe she’s finally going to answer the million questions he has been dying to ask.
“What do you want to tell me, Lydia?” He urges her, now staring into her eyes with a questioning look on his face. She stares back at him with many thoughts flowing through her confused mind. Isn’t she making a mistake now? Is this the right decision to make? She keeps asking herself as she stares up at him with fear written all over her.
“Why not tell him? He might help you out,” Her wolf urges her, and she takes a deep breath, making her decision…
