Cassie Robert…
Funny how you tend to miss the one that bullies you sometimes. It has been three weeks since alpha Damien has been away from the pack, and I can’t help but to thank my luck that I have been living freely. I get to hang out with Zoey sometimes, and I didn’t have to be scared that I’ll be punished. Lately, I have found myself missing him so badly for no reason, and no matter how much I try to control it, I can’t help the feeling.
I’ve been so bored in the castle. What was I even expecting? Madam Leila is not around, and I only get to see Zoey once in a while, since she’s not allowed to step foot into the royal castle.
I toss on the bed for the umpteenth time, letting out a throaty groan. I just finished cleaning the alpha’s chamber a few minutes ago, and I don’t even feel tired like before. I don’t know why it has been like this ever since he traveled.
Recalling that there’s a place in the castle that is worth touring, I jump off the bed and storm out of the room. Stepping out of the room, I walk down the veranda, and soon, I’m standing in front of the door that leads to the secret garden. It seems like I’m the only one that knows about this garden. I mean, I must’ve stumbled on one or two people if anyone knows about it, right?
The gentle wind welcomes me in as it blows gently on my face, giving me the relaxing feeling I’ve always craved. It has been a while since I have been here. I have forgotten that there’s a place like this, maybe because I haven’t gotten the chance to visit here often while alpha Damien was around.
The flowers are dry and almost falling to the ground. Seeing the rough edges, I feel bad for the innocent flowers. The flowers look weak and unkept. They must’ve been suffering from dehydration for a long time. It seems like there has been nobody to take care of it.
I rush over to the running water and fetch some water to feed the flowers with. It takes me fifteen minutes to water the flowers before I finally walk over to the only stone comfortable to sit on in the garden. I sit on the stone and stare into the water as a smile lace up my lips.
A few minutes later, the water suddenly starts bubbling as ripples forms in it, and I pull a puzzled look. It can’t be that the water is trying to perform magic, right?
Someone suddenly pops out of the water, and I scream as I flinch. He snaps his head to look at me, and I freeze on the spot. I have never seen this person before. Wait, why is he here?
“What are you doing here?” His face doesn’t look like he’s shocked to see me, instead, he looks like he knows me before. Who the hell is this young man?
“Uhm… Uhm…” I bite my bottom lip, unsure of what to say.
“What are you doing here yourself? This is my garden…” I whisper the last part. Of course, this place somehow belongs to me. I have been here before anyone else.
“You’re funny, you know?” He chuckles, as he shakes his head slowly.
“Wh… what?” I scoff at him.
His whole body suddenly pops out of the water, and my breath hitches at the sight I behold. His broad chest is dripping wet, he has a tattoo of a wolf on the left side of his broad chest, his left hand has a tattoo of a dragon, and I bet it looks so real and dangerous. His abs are the most perfect I’ve ever seen, his waist is tiny, and his… his… I can see it dangling in between his legs in the brief he’s wearing. What the heck am I staring at right now?
“Stop looking…” His voice disrupts my thought, and that’s when realization dawns on me, he caught me drooling at him. I’m not to be blamed though, this is my first time seeing someone that has such a perfect body shape, how am I not to drool?
“Ehem!” I clear my throat as I turn my face away from him in embarrassment.
An awkward silence assumes the air, and the only sound I keep hearing is that of the running water. As much as I want to look to confirm if he was still around, knowing that he’ll still be standing there naked, I decided to save myself the embarrassment and keep my gaze away. Turns out that coming here is a bad idea in the first place.
I quickly turn around, ready to pick race out of the garden, but his voice stops me on my track.
“I was just about to leave, you can go ahead,” His calm voice is the smoothest I’ve ever heard. I finally turn around to look at him, and he’s already dressed. His cloth covers his tattooed chest and arm. No one would believe that beneath his beautiful clothes on him, there are dangerous tattoos there.
“Oh, thank you…”
“Anyway, my name is Kai,” He introduces himself to me, and I slowly nod my head in confusion. Don’t blame me, I’ve never heard of that name before, so it’s kind of weird.
“My name is…” Raising my gaze, I realize that he’s no longer in the garden. Did he disappear?
Evening…
I peek out of the room and look around the hallway to check if there’s any guard around, and luckily, there’s none.
I have an appointment with Zoey tonight. She’s going to teach me swordsmanship, and I’m so happy. Zoey is one of the strongest omega in the pack. Due to the pain omegas are always subjected to, and also how they’re bullied whenever there’s an attack on the pack, she has trained all her life to become strong, so she can protect herself. According to her, it was her late dad that taught her how to fight, and another good thing is that she knows dual wielding, and also archery.
Who would’ve ever thought that my life will end up like this? I never imagined that I’ll find myself in this situation, but I have to embrace my fate since it’s what’s destined for me.
A few minutes later…
“This is how you hold the arrow and bow. Straighten your shoulder, relax, keep your arm straight, aim at your target, raise your arms a bit, and shoot,” She instructs, and I release the arrow but it misses the target as always. I have been trying this for over thirty minutes now, and it keeps missing the target. I’m already getting frustrated. We have practiced sword fighting for almost two hours already.
“Ah! This is driving me crazy. Is this how much time you spent learning this?” I groan frustratingly as I drop my arms beside me.
“What are you doing?” The voice I’ll never fail to recognize, even in my deep sleep sounds from behind us, and I freeze on the spot. It’s alpha Damien! I’m doomed…
