Chapter 822: She’s Too Nice

Book:Devoted Love, Mr. Hayes' Darling Wife Published:2024-6-2

Dinner was prepared by Severo Laris in the kitchen of his new house.
Three courses and a soup with all the colors and flavors.
Paula Rouco paid a great compliment, “Severo, your cooking is so good, if my mouth is fed, I won’t want to eat diner food in the future.”
“This house is also a kilometer from the school, so you can come straight back to eat afterward.”
Paula Rouco curved her lips and let out a laugh, “Then you’ll have to pick me up from school.”
“I’ll pick you up if I don’t go to the buffet, but if I go to the buffet, you’ll have to pack your own lunch.”
Severo Laris put a piece of Braised Short Ribs on her plate.
Paula Rouco bites into the Braised Short Ribs and savors their sweetness.
On the weekend night, Severo Laris wouldn’t let her go.
Paula Rouco nervously texts Susana as Severo Laris goes to the bathroom to shower.
“I’m staying tonight, what should I do, wait in line.”
Susana came right back with, “Paulita, go upstairs and do it without further ado!”.
“…”, Paula Rouco’s mouth twitched.
In all the times I have shared a bed under one roof with Severo Laris, I have never been as nervous as I was tonight.
Probably because before, either in Severo Laris’ old house, there was Modeste in the house besides the two of them, and also in the house Severo Laris had rented before, there was still Lastra, the light bulb, and it was not convenient for them to do anything.
But tonight, it was her first time alone with Severo Laris, a duo that could easily get out of hand, couldn’t it?
When Severo Laris came out of the bathroom, Paula Rouco was sitting at the piano in the studio, distracted.
Until Severo Laris came over in a gray cotton robe and sat down on the stool next to her, the faint smell of dry soap wafting from it was pleasant with the scent of sunshine on the grass of the fields.
Paula Rouco’s mouth went instantly dry and she swallowed nervously.
The man’s long, slender fingers on the piano keys asked, “What are you playing?”
“E, E minor.”
“But why do I look like I’m playing.” There was a smile in his tone.
Paula Rouco looked up at him with wide eyes and a glint of surprise under them, “How did you know?”
“I learned a little as a kid and know the basics of some sheet music and piano keys.”
Paula Rouco thought Severo Laris knew nothing about piano or music, and that he was a musical idiot.
Severo Laris: “Was it a bit surprising? To think that someone from my background is unlikely to learn to play the piano.”
His tone was light and unemotional, as if he were merely relating a matter that did not concern him.
“I didn’t mean that.”
“My mother was born into a large family and considered herself the daughter of a large family, but she fell in love with a scoundrel like my father. My grandfather’s family strongly opposed my mother’s marriage, but my mother was so overwhelmed by her so-called love that she preferred to break off her relationship with my grandfather rather than marry a man like my father.”
Paula Rouco had no idea that such a love story existed, and if Severo Laris’ father had not been a kidnapper and a scoundrel, surely the family would be happy now.
Severo Laris’ long, slender fingers, playing the keys, continued with aplomb: “When I was a child, my family had a piano that my mother had brought from home. My mother didn’t master the piano, but she learned something, and she said I had long hands and small fingers, which made me perfect for playing the piano, so I followed some of her lessons as a child. ”
“But then my father became more and more irritable and, after drinking a lot, he started breaking things and hitting people, and my mother and I got beaten up a lot, and then the keys on that piano broke and it was never played again.”
Paula Rouco’s heart ached, a little sour with grief, but not knowing how to console him as Lastra did, she just arched her eyebrows at him and said, “Severo, let’s play my minor together.”
The four-handed combination, which Severo Laris had not played before and had not played for a long time, was surprisingly smooth with her, even though her hands were raw.
When the song ended, Paula Rouco looked at him and said, “Severo, I’ll never leave you again, okay?”
She was like a little sun, shining on him and warming him.
Once upon a time, Severo Laris did not believe in lasting relationships, his mother and father were the typical example of a couple that perhaps most marriages in this world start with love, but in the end, everything is in vain.
But even with this risk, Severo Laris couldn’t help but want to be there.
Because she is so wonderful, so wonderfully dazzling.
Severo Laris wrapped his arms around her neck and lowered his head to kiss the girl on the lips.
At the end of the kiss, the kiss turns sour.
Severo Laris grabbed her in a horizontal embrace and kissed her as he made his way to the master bedroom.
As Severo Laris laid her on the bed and reached over to unbutton her, a flash of clarity returned from the dark wave of his gaze as he gazed at her small scarlet and peach face.
Withdrawing his hand, he took the unbuttoned buttons from her breast and refastened them one by one.
Paula Rouco opened her misty, dark, tearful eyes, “What’s wrong?”
Suddenly, Severo Laris let out a soft laugh and looked at her playfully, “Do you feel like me going on?”.
The little face of “…” turned red.
Severo Laris picked her up and sat her on his lap, kissed her forehead and said softly, “I don’t want to intimidate you, lita, I can wait, I’m in no hurry for this moment.”
Paula Rouco happily wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her face in his chest.
The man looked down at the little head nestled in her arms and smiled fondly, lowering his head over her ear and saying, “But if it’s you who wants it, I’m happy to serve.”
As soon as his teasing words fell, the girl’s small, slender hand covered her thin lips, her watery eyes looking shyly into his dark, smiling ones.
“I’m going to take a shower!”
Paula Rouco climbed off his lap, grabbed her pajamas and ran to the bathroom, she felt like her heart was carrying several rabbits, her heartbeat had just exploded, how embarrassing.
She had just closed her eyes, what the hell did she expect!
Severo Laris must be laughing at her in his mind right now!

Monday afternoon, Paula Rouco returned to her dorm after her class, clutching her books.
Just as I arrived at the entrance of the hostel, I overheard Buena chatting with a student in the dormitory next door.
Buena: “This Paulita in our dorm, she often stays out at night and doesn’t come back on weekend nights, so she’s probably gone to find a room with a guy.”
“Isn’t that Paula Rouco? She looks so innocent looking, why is she so indiscreet?”.
Good one: “She’s a bully, and she’s very good at pretending. It’s obvious she’s rich, but she says her family is like that, and she eats thousands of boxes of chocolates as a snack.
“I hear she’s got Severo in her sights, is that true?”
Buena scoffed, “She’s been stalking Severo, throwing herself at him, running into his arms every day, begging him to sleep with her, and you can’t tell a man who refuses, who doesn’t want what’s coming to him.”
“I’m afraid that when Severo gets tired of sleeping with her, he won’t want her; men really don’t like her kind of bitchy delivery at all.”
Buena laughed cynically, “She’s giving herself away for nothing, and she doesn’t seem to know anything. The last time I asked her if she had slept with Severo, she looked at me with an ignorant look on her face.”
“No way, what kind of white rabbit character is she pretending to be, not just a faggoty, bitchy vibe.”
Paula Rouco, standing in front of the door, clenched her fist, didn’t hold back, clutched her book and walked briskly into the bedroom.
