“So why do not you try?”Ming had no intention of flinching.
When these gangs were hesitating to do something, one of them shouted, “Boss, the patrol is going this way.”
“Shit! You are lucky!”
The punk-ass leader finished talking and got on his motorcycle.
Then these punks left.
Ming turned around.
“Thank you.”I stood in front of Ming and felt embarrassed.
When I finished, I wanted to leave.
Ming Jessop shouted at me, “You didn’t wear your shoes, how are you going to go back?”
“I…”
In fact, because I took off my shoes to run, there seemed to be glass on the road, and it was stuck in my feet.
I just concentrated on escape so I didn’t feel it. Now that I stopped, I found that my feet were full of pain.
“Get in the car,”Ming said gently.
Then he opened the passenger seat for me and put himself in the driver’s seat.
When I got in, Ming said, “Sorry, my car is cheap and probably not as comfortable as Sean’s.”
“No, no, it is good.”
I quickly said.
Ming started the car and just started asking me, “Is it your birthday today?”
I glanced at him and looked at him.
I had doubts in my eyes and asked him, “How do you know?”
Ming glanced out of the window and said, “Today, Sean has been requisitioned all the buildings that can be contracted. Not to mention me, I am afraid that few people in York don’t know.”
I turned around and saw the lights flashing outside the building wishing me a happy birthday.
But when I thought of Sean who left because Molly was pregnant.
That was a great irony.
“He has no place to spend money.”I closed my eyes and smiled bitterly.
“Sean is a businessman. He doesn’t want to spend money for anyone.”Ming looked at the front where had a happy birthday light. He looked and said, “He is willing to spend so much money on you, which means he puts you in his heart.”
“This may never have happened.”
I smiled bitterly.
He cared about me?
Molly was the only one in his mind.
I was sitting in the car and suddenly realized that Ming Jessop’s car was not in the direction of York No. 1. I looked at the strange scenery outside the window and asked him, “Where is this?”
Maybe I trusted Ming very much.
Even if this was not the way home, I had no doubt that he would harm me.
Ming smiled, “Your foot hurts. I was on duty at the hospital today. I just went home to pick up some stuff. I didn’t expect to meet you. So I will help you with the cut on your foot and then I sent you home.”
My foot injury should be serious. I really needed to go to the hospital.
Soon, Ming parked the car at the door of a small private hospital called the Sunshine Hospital.
The car was parked near the door.
Ming opened the door for me. I got off the bus and thought that the wound on my right foot was serious. I wanted to use my left foot to step on the ground. However, my left foot just touched the ground and it hurts a lot.
I took a deep breath, and when I was brave enough to get out of the car, Ming was in front of me and said, “Come here, I will carry you.”
“No, no, no.”
I immediately waved my hand and said.
Ming still maintained a squat posture. He shook his head slightly and said in a gentle tone, “Are you going to leave a bloody footprint in the corridor of my hospital?”
His words embarrassed me a little.
I did have blood on my feet right now.
Hesitating, I still put my hand on the man’s shoulder.
All the way, I was carried to the diagnostic room by Ming.
The nurse helped me with the wound on my foot. I had three pieces of glass on my feet.
When the biggest piece of glass was pulled out, Ming took a doll of a bear and handed it to me.”Hold it, don’t be afraid, just be fine.”
“Thank you.”
I was holding the doll.
I watched the nurse pull out the largest piece of glass by tweezers, then disinfected my feet and wrapped them in gauze.
Ming asked the nurse to get me a new pair of nurse’s shoes.
Then he sent me home.
On the way back, I asked him, “I didn’t think you were a doctor…”
“Well, I am a poor doctor.”
Ming added.
I immediately said, “No, doctor is fine. It is a good job to save life.”
That was what I thought.
Ming glanced at me with a faint smile.”Thank you. I really like my job, too.”
Ming took me home. I just got out of the car and he chased me out.”Here you go.”
I looked down. It was the little bear doll.
“No, no, no.”I subconsciously refused.
“Take it. It was given to me by a small patient before he was discharged from the hospital. I am an adult and it is useless to take, so I will give it to you.”He said, put the doll into my hand, and then added, “You are a child in my heart too.”
After he finished speaking, he returned to the car and drove away.
I looked at the bear doll, smiled unconsciously, holding the doll home.
That night, maybe because of the little bear, I didn’t have sleeplessness.
The next day, as soon as I got to the office, I was blocked by a bunch of employees.
“June, it was your birthday yesterday, wasn’t it?”
“Your boyfriend was so rich, he requisitioned all the buildings in the city yesterday.”
“Yes, you have such a rich boyfriend, and you do not give us a clue. Why do you maintain a low profile?”
Everyone was talking around. Then I only heard Billie say, “Her sister is our company’s biggest boss, Mr. Jessop’s fiancee, can she be poor?”
In a word, there was an uproar.
More colleagues came around to ask me who my boyfriend was.
I know that if I said that it was Sean who bought it for me, no one will believe it.
I simply said, “That is not me. Maybe it is just the same name.”
“Don’t lie to me. I have checked with personnel. Your birthday is yesterday.”
Colleagues didn’t believe it.
I smiled wryly as I looked around my colleagues and asked them, “Would you deny it if it happened to you?”
In a word, everyone seems to understand.
The colleagues left with a face of despair.
Someone followed Billie and said, “Hey. I thought she really has a rich boyfriend.”
Billie smiled, “She just can be played by a man. If she can find a rich boyfriend, then would I marry the richest man in the world?”
When I was in Universe Design Co. LTD, Billie was the only person in the design department who knew that.
I could understand if she was dissatisfied with me.
At lunch time, I was sitting at a table, listening to other colleagues sitting together, discussing yesterday’s events.
The people in the design department shared my words with them this morning.
Everybody looked as if they were both disappointed and satisfied.
I thought I could eat alone for lunch today, but I heard someone ask me, “Is there anyone here?”
