Paula Rouco entered the firm and was greeted by Rufio’s strange gaze as if she were an alien.
Paula Rouco was embarrassed by the look.
Rufio smiled mischievously and said, “So, you know Severo, and you know him well?”
Severo Laris has gone to take a shower and Paula Rouco is on tenterhooks, not daring to say anything out of the other world, smiling awkwardly and saying, “I know him, but I don’t really know him.”
At least Severo Laris didn’t know her.
“So you still come to bring him food?”
“…”
“Honestly, you like him, don’t you?”
When this girl walked in, her big eyes kept glancing at Severo, who was also an extremely handsome man, but he ignored her.
This has only one explanation, and that is that the girl likes Severo Laris and likes him a lot.
Paula Rouco said nothing, counting it as acquiescence.
Rufio, who was a vicious conversationalist, saw the interesting schoolgirl and said, “Girl, have you ever heard the saying that men are afraid of being harassed by women?”
Paula Rouco shakes her head.
Rufio continued, “This Severo, he’s a hard man to like, he’s the typical tough guy, if you like him and want to pursue him, you have to stalk him to death.”
Paula Rouco flattened her little mouth, taking him seriously, and asked worriedly, “And what if I annoy him until he annoys me?”
Rufio couldn’t help but stare at the young girl’s innocence, “He’s not going to bore you to death, at best you’ll be nipping at his heels, you’ll keep pestering and pestering and he’ll probably be yours.”
Paula Rouco sighed heavily, her small shoulders slumped, “I’m afraid I don’t have the fortitude…”
“How will you know if you don’t try.”
Rufio ate and moved the chopsticks to grab the one chicken thigh from the plastic box.
Paula Rouco immediately pushed the plastic box away, “You can’t eat this.”
Rufio was stunned, “Why?”.
The girl’s face warmed slightly and she said, “This was not made by Lastra, I had it specially ordered from the canteen.”
Rufio raised an eyebrow, “Oh deh, I dare to take it to Severo to eat it.”
Seeing that Rufio did not hit the chicken thigh again, Paula Rouco put the plastic box back on the table.
Paula Rouco added ingratiatingly, “Rufio, if you want a chicken thigh, next time I’ll hit one on you too.”
Rufio hooked his lips, “Little sister knows what she’s doing, she has a future.”
Paula Rouco whispered to me, “But…. you have to help me chase Severo Laris. ”
“Why, such a small thing, a chicken leg, he deals.”
Paula Rouco’s sense of accomplishment is overwhelming.
Susana recently gave her a copy of “The Secret of Love” and one of the methods in it says that to catch someone, you first have to buy all the best people in your environment.
He felt that he had done this quite successfully and that he was one big step closer to catching Severo Laris.
Severo Laris finished showering and as he came out he saw Rufio and Paula Rouco chatting happily.
The man’s handsome face was inexplicably somber.
Paula Rouco saw him leave and her eyes darted to him, “Come eat before the food gets cold.”
Severo Laris took a seat next to Rufio and Paula Rouco pushed the chicken leg in front of him. “I got this especially for you from the school canteen.”
“I don’t like chicken legs.”
Paula Rouco was quick to ask, “… And what do you like to eat?”
Rufio took one look at the squirming man, grunted and snagged the plastic box with his chopsticks, “Paulita, you can’t spoil a man like that, he doesn’t eat, I do!”.
Just as Rufio’s chopsticks were about to touch the chicken thigh, Severo Laris suddenly blocked his chopsticks with his own.
Rufio observed the good fight, “Yo, I, I thought you didn’t like chicken legs.”
Severo Laris spoke conspiratorially, “Not liking it doesn’t make it any cheaper.”
“Is he still a good brother?”
Paula Rouco watched as Severo Laris poured the chicken leg onto his plate, and her little face couldn’t help but show a sweet smile.
As the two men ate, Paula Rouco looked at the buffet and wondered, “By the way, why are there two bodyguards guarding the entrance to the buffet?”
Strangely intimidating.
Rufio said, “We recently took on a difficult case, we are the plaintiff and the defendant has some power in Imperial, I was afraid of retaliation from his people behind our backs, so I moved two bodyguards from our house to keep us safe.”
Paula Rouco grew up under the complete protection of The Rouco family and, despite being kidnapped by the wrong people, has never seen darkness.
Concerned, she asked, “Will it be life-threatening?”
Rufio couldn’t resist teasing her, “If you mess up, Severo and I will be stabbed in the hospital.”
At this statement, Paula Rouco’s little face turned white.
Severo Laris looked at his brother coldly: “If you have the energy to talk nonsense here, you’d better finish your meal and go and put your testimony together”.
“Che. So nervous, afraid you’ll scare your little heart out?”
Paula Rouco, sitting off to the side, choked and coughed twice.
When they finished eating, Paula Rouco got up with her lunch box and prepared to leave. “You guys keep working, I’m going back to school.”
Severo Laris raised his eyes and looked outside; it was dark.
Bufete S, R, L is not in a busy area as rents are cheaper in this area, but this area is a bit remote and the neighborhood is complicated and not too safe at night.
“Wait a bit.”
Paula Rouco froze, not understanding what Severo Laris was referring to.
Severo Laris said in a subdued voice, “I’ll finish tidying up these statements and send you back. Wait for me for half an hour.”
Paula Rouco, fearful of delaying him from his serious business, said, “That’s all right, I’ll take a cab back to school.”
Rufio remonstrated, “I also just heard on the news the other day that there was a fatal lawsuit over a cab app, and that the girl was raped and then killed by the driver and dumped in the desert.”
Paula Rouco: … panic in the bottom of her heart.
Severo Laris threw a cold glare into the room, “Rufio, shut up if you can’t talk.”
Rufio let out a “guffaw”, “I’m here for your welfare, don’t be ungrateful”.
There was something ambiguous in this statement. Paula Rouco lowered her eyes and did not say she would go first, but sat down and waited for Severo Laris.
Severo Laris and Rufio get to work.
Paula Rouco walked over with her backpack, remembering that she had senior math homework due today and that Severo Laris’ work wouldn’t be finished for a while, so she sat down at her big, long desk to do her homework.
Severo Laris organized the papers and testimonials, she did her homework, and the atmosphere was harmonious and fair.
Severo Laris is a workaholic who automatically blocks out everyone and everything around him when he is working.
When I looked up again, I saw a girl with a pencil in her hand and doing calculations.
Every now and then she frowns and every now and then she snaps those lilting fingers, serious and pretty.
Severo Laris looked at his wristwatch, it was nine o’clock and time to take her back to school or the dorm would be closed.
He came up behind her and swept the algebra she was working on.
“Wrong.”
Over her head a low male voice sounded and Paula Rouco, startled, sat up and straightened her back like a schoolboy.
When he stood behind her, so close, she was so nervous.
