Chapter 83 It’s Really Over

I squinted at Sean and smiled, “Yeah, I don’t want money.”
At this time, I felt happy.
I was happy that Sean finally stopped acting, so I didn’t have to be nostalgic.
But Sean seemed surprised by my answer.”June, do you agree?”
“Yeah, what else does President Jessop want? If you like my house in York No. 1, I’ll give it to you.”
I looked at him and said coldly.
Sean frowned and after a while said, “I don’t want it.”
As the staff wrote the agreement, Sean added, “well, I’ll give her 20 percent of the Giant group.”
I was shocked by his remark.
But I quickly realized that Sean was setting me up.
I immediately refused, “I don’t want it.”
Twenty percent of the Giant group’s shares were worth at least 10 billion dollars.
Once I took so much money from him, Sean and I would get involved.
The staff looked at me in disbelief.
It seemed that he was the first time to see someone who didn’t want money.
“June, I’ll give it to you. You have to take it, or we won’t divorce!”
Sean was ordering me.
I looked at him and smiled and said, “what’s President Jessop thinking? Why are you in a hurry to give me the money?”
“June-”
“I don’t need President Jessop to compensate me. As long as you can divorce me, I’m very grateful.”
We were in the VIP office. There was only one person who helped write the divorce agreement.
He looked at us helplessly.
He looked at me as if he were looking at a fool.
I kept rejecting Sean. At last he compromised, “OK, do what you say.”
The staff wrote the agreement and showed it to us.
We didn’t have kids and I didn’t want Sean’s money so we had nothing to do with it.
There was no problem with the agreement. I signed it first.
Sean looked at me with a pen. His eyes were full of inquiry.
I didn’t know what he meant and I didn’t want to think about it.
Finally Sean signed.
When I saw his signature, the corner of my mouth slightly raised. I pretended I was calm, but my heart hurt.
Sean signed and looked at me.
He saw me laughing.
His thin, closed lip suddenly lifted. He smiled and said, “June, your dream has come true.”
“Yes. My dream has come true.”
I said firmly.
The staff confirmed the agreement and put it in two parts in front of him and me. He took the marriage certificate in front of us and changed it into two divorce certificates.
I took them and went out with Sean.
The corridor of the Civil Affairs Bureau was only a few meters, but I hoped it was longer.
Two young people came to get married. They snuggled up happily to each other.
It reminded me of the time when Sean and I got married.
Maybe their relationship would last. My relationship with him was just a farce.
At last we came to the door.
I turned to Sean and said,” President Jessop, we’ll never meet again.”
With that, I turned and left.
I left my last dignity to myself.
I went to the police station to apply for dismissal.
I was in a bad state after that day. I often made mistakes in my work.
I apologized again and again, but I always lost my mind.
I would stand at the door and took a deep breath when I went home at night. I looked around when I entered the room.
At that moment, my hope turned into disappointment.
I knew Sean wouldn’t come back and we were divorced. But I still hoped.
Fortunately, he didn’t know such a funny me.
In order to stop these actions, I asked the security guard to change my door lock. I told them that no one could take my card except me.
Brenda, the manager, called me by name at the meeting, but I was distracted.
After the meeting, the manager called me to the office and said, “June, do you think we want you, a person who has been in prison?”
“What?”
I was staring at Brenda. She was usually gentle but today she changed.
She looked at me with a certain distaste in her eyes.
Brenda said, “the reason we want you is because of Daniell’s instructions. He told many colleagues at a meeting that if you apply for the job, he would like us to agree. He said you were very capable.”
“Daniell-”
I mumbled.
Brenda continued, “you were really good when you first came here, but recently you have been making mistakes and being complained by customers. If you don’t want to work, you can quit. I dare fire you even if you are Daniell’s friend.”
I was embarrassed to hear Brenda.
I always thought I was lucky and my ability was affirmed.
But I didn’t expect it was Daniell’s help.
I apologized and told Brenda again and again that I would never make another mistake.
After that, I went to several construction sites where I was responsible to check the situation. After communicating with several customers, I revised their dissatisfaction overnight.
I looked up and saw that it was almost light outside.
I was still in the company. I didn’t realize I hadn’t eaten for nearly 24 hours until I finished my work.
I went out to KFC and bought a bowl of porridge and a hamburger.
I couldn’t go home now for sure. I slept in KFC for a while to get back to work.
My work was almost finished by the time I left work. I remembered what Brenda said yesterday, so I called Daniell specifically to thank him.
But Daniell said, “it’s all your own effort.”
I hung up and hesitated. I decided not to tell him I was divorced. I was afraid he misunderstood me.
Actually, I hadn’t seen him for a long time.
But I thought it was good. He could have more time with others. Maybe one day he could find a girlfriend.
The next day was the weekend. I slept at home for 12 hours.
I was going to keep sleeping but I heard someone opening the door. I suddenly woke up!
I sat up from the bed and heard the opening of the door stopped. There was a knock at the door.
Sean.
I had guessed it was him.
But I still pretended to ask,” who?”
“It’s me.”
Sean answered.
I leaned against the door and said, “President Jessop, we are divorced. What do you want to do today?”
I was not going to let him in. After all, I had just recovered.
I didn’t want to be disturbed easily by him.
