The latest release, The Man from the Lonesaw, is a thriller and a big bad movie.
But there was nothing in theaters recently, so Paula Rouco opted for this big bad movie.
Severo Laris, for his part, was a bit surprised to learn that a little girl liked to watch ghost movies.
That was fine with him, but he feared she would scream her voice out at the movies later on.
As a little girl, Estrella Berrocal would take Paula Rouco to the movies and they would both order popcorn and coke, so Paula Rouco also ordered popcorn and coke when she went to the movies.
His eyes ran over the popcorn a couple of times, but then he remembered what Buena had said in the middle of the day.
Severo’s family isn’t very well off and the most part-time jobs he’s ever had have been four a day.
Things like popcorn and Coke are also junk food in their own right, so forget about it.
Even she hadn’t realized she was saving money for an outsider, or for something as trivial as buying popcorn and Coke.
The movie started shortly thereafter and Severo Laris handed her one of the tickets, “You go in first, I’ll go after.”
Paula Rouco thought she had to go to the bathroom, nodded and entered the movie theater first.
…
Shortly after arriving at the cinema and taking a seat, Severo Laris approached her and sat down.
The man handed her a large bucket of popcorn and coke.
In the gloom of the screen, Paula Rouco couldn’t help twisting her lips and running her small hands over the bucket of popcorn.
Click, click, click.
Severo Laris’ ears ring with the sound of a little girl crunching the popcorn next to him.
He had always preferred silence, and when he heard the voice, he frowned slightly, but was not offended.
Soon the movie reaches its horrible climax.
In the cinema, the darkness was total, a terrifying and eerie soundtrack resounded, and at some point a ghostly face suddenly appeared on the big screen in front of her.
Paula Rouco’s heart, hanging high above.
The girls are both scared and eager to see this kind of thriller.
Paula Rouco unconsciously leans toward Severo Laris and doesn’t even eat the popcorn.
Severo Laris leaned back a bit while watching the boring suspense sequences on the screen and looked at his watch in the dark to see the time, eleven o’clock.
Normally, at this time, it is his working hour, analyzing stock movements throughout the day and keeping track of the venture capital projects he has in hand.
Suddenly, a ghostly face appeared on the screen, startling the entire cinema with a scream.
Paula Rouco reached out to grab Severo Laris’ arm with her small hand and buried her face in his shoulder.
Severo Laris froze and looked at her frightened little face, and a faint smile appeared on his always serious and handsome face, “So scared, and you choose a ghost movie to watch?”
Paula Rouco puffed out her little mouth, looked up and said bravely, “I’m not scared, it was just so sudden!”.
As soon as the words left her mouth, another ghostly face appeared on the screen, scaring Paula Rouco into screaming and clutching Severo Laris’ neck.
The smile on Severo Laris’ lips, accentuated, “Again because of the suddenness?”.
Paula Rouco: “Still available…?”
Startled by her milky little voice.
Eyes afraid to look at the screen.
Severo Laris patted her, indicating she could raise her eyes to look.
As soon as Paula Rouco looked up, Severo Laris happened to glance down, and the girl’s soft cotton candy lips brushed the lumpy lump in the man’s throat.
In any case, warmth and ambiguity grew quietly in the dimly lit theater.
Luckily the light was dim, otherwise Severo Laris would have already been able to see her hot, red face.
Severo Laris looked at the glowing screen, but his eyes lost focus, his dark eyes narrowed and the lump in his throat tightened.
There was no ignoring the sense of agitation.
A thriller that went from 10 o’clock at night, to 12 o’clock before it ended.
On the way out of the theater, Paula Rouco received a Facebook message from Analeigh.
It was about asking where she had been.
Damn, the hostess aunt must have checked the room.
Walking toward the theater entrance, Paula Rouco hurriedly said, “I’m going to my bedroom first!”.
Severo Laris looked at his watch, it was a quarter to twelve, “The school dormitory must be closed at this hour.”
“… Then I’ll be off to spend the night in a hotel.”
Severo Laris frowned and hit the nail on the head, “Do you have your ID on you?”.
“… no.” God, you can’t stay in a hotel without ID!
Severo Laris got on his bike and said, “Hop on.”
The Severo Laris is a mountain bike, no back seat, only on the front bar can one person sit.
This movie theater is near their school and when they came before, Severo Laris pushed the car and they came on foot.
For a moment, Paula Rouco didn’t know where to sit.
When Severo Laris saw that she didn’t move, he frowned slightly, as if he didn’t want to wait for her to take her time, and with one hand on the bike, he pulled her with the other and led her straight to sit on the handlebars with one arm.
“…”
Over her head, came a low, cold male voice, “Stay still and don’t move.”
“…”
He’d only ever seen his father so dominant with Estrella, not that he’d ever met any other boy so dominant.
Severo Laris is a solid pilot.
She felt safe being locked in his arms.
They didn’t really know each other well, they had only met a couple of times and had only known each other for two days, and now she was following him in the middle of the night.
“Where are you taking me?”
“My house.”
“…”
The corners of Paula Rouco’s mouth twitched.
…
Arriving at Severo’s house, the house Severo Laris and Lastra share, to be exact.
It has two bedrooms and a bathroom.
At that moment, Lastra was sleeping in one of the rooms, with the bedroom door closed.
Paula Rouco arrives at a strange man’s house and moves with caution and restraint.
Severo Laris lifted his chin and motioned her to sleep in his room, saying, “You can commiserate here for the night.”
Paula Rouco unconsciously asked, “And where do you sleep?”
“The couch.”
The atmosphere was a bit uncomfortable.
Paula Rouco interjected, “How embarrassing would that be, why don’t I sleep on the couch?”.
Severo Laris looked at her and said, “I don’t want Lastra to wake up tomorrow morning and see a strange woman lying on the couch and scream.”
Then there is the endless gossip.
Severo Laris has no intention of giving Lastra the opportunity to meet with Paula Rouco tomorrow morning.
Paula Rouco gave an “Oh,” “Well … I’m going to bed.”
She wasn’t supposed to shower tonight, and she had no spare clothes, so she could stink all night and wash up in the morning when she returned to the lodge.
Severo Laris called out to her.
Paula Rouco turned hesitantly to look at him, “Is there anything else?”
Severo Laris looked at her from a short distance, with his deep, dark eyes, and asked suddenly, “That day, why did you help me?”
“I’m not used to seeing people bullied!”
Severo Laris softly hooked his thin lips at these words, “Aren’t you afraid of offending the other side because of me?”
Paula Rouco brushed her lips and said, “I’m not afraid of them, they won’t hit me, besides, they’re the ones who are wrong.”
“Sleep.”
“…”
Paula Rouco turned and walked into the bedroom and, after a moment, turned and leaned over the door, looking at Severo Laris with a twinkle in her eye. “If they bear me a grudge and frighten me the next time they see me, I am your benefactor, you must help me.”
“Aren’t you afraid?” asked Severo Laris playfully.
Paula Rouco rubbed against the door and frowned, “This is Imperial, it’s not on my doorstep, if they harass me, my parents won’t be able to come to my aid for a while, so I’ll have to be careful.”
Will you grow a heart?
If you had a heart, would you spend the night with a man you’ve only seen twice?
Severo Laris spoke casually, “Don’t go home with a man overnight so easily again.”
As a reminder, as advice.
Paula Rouco slumped against the door and let out a good-natured “oh,” not forgetting to reply, “But you didn’t even give me a chance to say no.”
Taking her directly to his bicycle was almost the equivalent of taking her directly to him! Nor did she go home with him of her own free will.
Severo Laris looked casually at the pretty girl by the door and said, “I won’t do anything to you.”
“Why, in case you get into mischief!”
Paula Rouco said, hurrying to bundle up more.
Severo Laris doesn’t look like a man with the heart of an outlaw, though.
Severo Laris tossed out a lighthearted, “Too astringent for me.”
“…” he spits blood.
How young is she? She’s, she’s very good!
A little girl stood by the door and looked at him indignantly, hmmm, ungrateful!
Severo Laris watched as the girl turned and walked into the bedroom, closing the door behind her, before leaning back on the couch, arms folded behind her head.
After closing his eyes, the man’s thin lips curved slightly.
It was a wonderful feeling to be protected by a weak girl. It was like a sudden pouring of boiling water over a long-cold heart, a sensation not warm but uncomfortable, a little repulsive, but one that also did not prevent being touched.
Severo Laris did not know that under that whimsically beautiful skin was hidden the heart of a good and innocent child.
…
Paula Rouco got up early the next morning.
Looking at my phone, it was 5 o’clock in the morning.
She was sleepy, but thought that this was Severo’s house and she had to leave before Severo Laris’ housemates ran into her and made a big mistake.
Crawling out of bed, as soon as she opened the door, she saw Severo Laris sitting in the living room on a black laptop with a red and green screen full of stock graphics.
God, someone who was more of a workaholic than her father, getting up in the wee hours of the morning to study the stock market?
Paula Rouco scratches the back of her head, sleepy and confused, “Why are you up so early?”
Severo Laris said as he got up to pour himself a glass of tap water. “I’m used to it, my mind is clearer in the morning when I study”.
Handing him the glass of plain water, Paula Rouco took it and gave him a thumbs up, “Admirable, studying so early, I would just have a brain full of mush and just want to sleep!”.
Afterwards, Severo Laris sent Paula Rouco back to the college dormitory.
…
After that day, for several days, Severo Laris did not contact her again.
Paula Rouco is lost for no reason, clinging to her phone and checking Facebook from time to time.
During lunch, Susana teased her amusingly, “I say you’re pretty good too, sneaking off with Severo in the middle of the night to watch a late night ghost movie, Paula Rouco, why didn’t I think before that you had such a brain in love?”
“That you are in love brain, that you want to be in a relationship with him, I just casually mentioned it, that I knew you would agree so quickly.”
Susanna looked at her with her head hanging, “You don’t want to fall in love with someone, you’re losing your mind now with the way you keep your phone. You’re not really in love with Severo, are you?”.
Paula Rouco, who was raised to be straight and honest, pouted her little lips and said, “What, he’s got a girlfriend or something and I can’t like him?”
“Yes, of course you can! Not only do my sisters support you in spirit, they support you in action!”
Hearing this, Paula Rouco perked up, “How do you support me in action?”
Susana snapped her fingers, “Professional stalker! Deadly stalker!”
Paula Rouco spit blood, “What a stupid idea you had! I think Severo Laris is going to dislike me before I get to chase him!”.
“You don’t get it, do you, Severo Laris is the sensual type! The more he resists, the more he likes it.”
