“Roman, how is it possible that Severo Laris has money to pay for your limited edition AJ when he’s so aggressive with his state scholarship every year, that even his tuition is waived by the school?”
“Severo is afraid he doesn’t even know what AJ is!”
“I can’t understand what those girls who chase you see in you. Nowadays girls would rather sit in a fancy car and cry than sit on your broken Severo bike and laugh, right?”
The irony of this comment caused several guys behind him to laugh out loud.
The boy in the lead, known as “Roman,” dropped a pack of tissues at his feet.
Provoked Roman with a condescending look, “Where are those shoes, I won’t let you pay for them either, Severo get down and clean these shoes for me today.”
Paula Rouco did not expect to see such “school violence” on her first day of school.
Susana couldn’t help but blurt out, “These people are too much of a bully! It’s obvious they’ve run into it themselves, bullying others!”
Paula Rouco, not used to such snobs, raised her eyebrows and said to Susana, “Don’t you like Severo’s face? Shall we go upstairs and relieve ourselves?”
“Relief? There are a lot of them!”
“It’s at school, I don’t believe that bunch would dare hit anyone!”
With that, Paula Rouco strides over to the boy in the lead and says, “Partner, you dropped your handkerchief on the floor, even the kids know that littering is not allowed at school, you’re an adult, you shouldn’t be unaware of that, right?”
Roman froze slightly, wanting to give in: what vegetable was so insensitive as to go out and spoil the teacher’s day?
But Roman turned his eyes and saw Paula Rouco’s pretty white face.
It’s not good to get angry with a beautiful woman, but you can’t swallow your anger.
Roman pointed at Severo Laris: “He stepped on my slippers, shouldn’t I clean them?”.
Paula Rouco looked at Roman’s white sneakers and raised an eyebrow, her dark eyes twinkling as she came up with a great way to catch someone.
So, nodding approvingly, “Looks like it’s pretty dirty to step in. I don’t think I can even clean it.”
Roman couldn’t help but agree when he heard the beautiful woman say that, “Right? I’m not asking too much, am I?”
Paula Rouco pulled a bottle of mineral water out of her purse, unscrewed it and poured it directly onto Roman’s slippers.
Roman jumped back violently, “Hey! What are you doing?”
Paula Rouco smiled harmlessly with a row of white teeth, “I’m washing your limited edition AJ’s!”.
Roman jumped to his feet, “I can’t wash these in water in limited edition! Do you even understand?”
Paula Rouco gave an “Oh” and said innocently, “I can’t afford to wear AJs, so how do I know they can’t even touch the water?”
Roman looked annoyed, frowned and waved his hand, “Okay, okay, okay, this prince won’t make things difficult for this guy today for your sake! Count me as unlucky today!”
As Roman approached Severo Laris, he blurted out a vile, “Someone helped you this time, but Severo Laris I tell you, next time I won’t let you off so easily.”
Severo Laris’ gaze was cold and thin, and from start to finish, his eyes did not move.
When Roman and his group left, Susana burst out laughing, clutching her stomach: “Hahahahaha, Paulita, how good you are! How is the water that washes the slippers? Jajajajajajajajaja …”
Paula Rouco clapped her hands and glared at the arrogant back of Roman’s group and growled, “These eyes on the top of your head should be fixed!”
After Paula Rouco “chastised the bully,” Severo Laris said nothing and left.
Paula Rouco called his attention to her, “Hey, I risked getting my ass kicked to help you and you don’t even thank me?”
Susana replied, “Yes, we are helping you a lot, at least leave a Facebook!”.
“…”
Paula Rouco spat blood inside, knowing that the nymphomaniac Susana could not say anything good.
Severo Laris paused in his stride and turned to Paula Rouco, his gaze was deep and cold, his thin lips exhaled no emotion as he merely said, “Thank you.”
This “thank you” is a very overbearing and ruthless way of saying “thank you”.
For some reason, Paula Rouco suddenly wanted to make things difficult for him, perhaps because the man was unperturbed by her situation, or perhaps because he had annoyed her that night in the courtyard of La Villa Rouco.
She didn’t want to let him go so easily.
“For my part, I don’t accept verbal thanks.”
Severo Laris raised his eyes and looked at her with a twinkle in them, “And how would you like me to thank you?”
“I haven’t thought about it yet …! I’ll tell you when I have thought about it.”
After saying this, Severo Laris suddenly approached her and she unconsciously took a step back, but the man’s large, slender hand had already grasped her right wrist.
Paula Rouco frowned and struggled, “What for?”
Severo Laris’ large, slender, beautiful hand had reached out with his palm, pulled out a pen, and wrote a series of numbers on her hand.
The tip of the pen touched the white palm of his hand, producing a tingling, tingling sensation.
Severo Laris withdrew the pen, looking unimpressed, and said coldly, “Here’s my cell phone number. Let me know when you think of it, I don’t like to owe people favors.”
Paula Rouco looked at the string of numbers in the palm of her hand and looked up at Severo Laris’ back, slightly confused.
The tingle in that palm still seemed to be there.
Susana hitched her shoulder and looked at the departing man’s back, rubbing her chin, “Paulita, does that Severo guy have his eye on you?”
“…” Ahem.
Severo Laris had that agitated look on his face as if he was checking her out….
He clearly looked like he didn’t want to get involved with her, so he just gave her his cell phone number, right?
Paula Rouco didn’t care and pulled Susana, “Come on, buy me a latte!”.
“Hey, the one who just wrote on your hand is at least the popular figure of the school, share your cell phone number! Pearl latte, have it any way you want!”
Paula Rouco held out her white palm for Susana to see, “Take it if you want. I think Severo just gave us a cell phone number, he’s so overbearing that even if you add him on Facebook through this cell phone number, I don’t think he’ll add you.”
“How do we know he won’t join us if we don’t try? Maybe a blind cat will meet a dead rat.”
Paula Rouco: “…”
In your day, will you try to add him too?
…
We spent a crazy day at the Imperial with Susana, eating and drinking everything.
When I got back to the hostel in the evening, I received a Facebook message from Susana while lying under the covers after a shower.
“I’ve been adding for years and Severo hasn’t passed my Facebook verification message.”
Paula Rouco was about to reply to her not to waste her time when Susana, over there, reluctantly said, “Added one more time!”.
Paula Rouco only replied with the emoji “….”.
It was a bit disconcerting to go from the soft bed of her home in La Ciudad Santa to this hard little bed, and it was the first time she had been so far from home since she was a child.
Insomnia.
Inexplicably, she remembered the number Severo Laris had written on her hand.
People are curious and she suddenly wanted to test if Severo Laris also added her.
Hastily, I turned on the backlight of my phone and illuminated it with the palm of my hand.
Damn, I washed my hands several times today and lost a few digits of my cell phone number.
“…”
