Less than a minute later, I got a call from Molly Carter!
“Why do you have this?”
That was the first sentence Molly Carter said.
Obviously, she knew exactly what I sent her.
As I packed up my computer and walked out, I took the phone and said to her, “What you have done will be known to others.”
“No one will believe you!”Molly Carter had a guilty voice.
After all, she copied it.
By this time, I had already stepped out of the computer city. I looked out at the fine weather and said slowly, “Don’t you believe me? Mrs. Chen’s works have very distinct personal characteristics. By comparing your work with her previous work, I can prove that you copied her.”
“What do you want to do? What do you want?”
I hadn’t finished yet. Molly Carter had interrupted me.
She knew that the master’s design had its own style. Others couldn’t imitate it. Professionals could see the mystery at a glance.
And her confusion was what I wanted.
I said slowly, “I want you to let Henry’s wife leave immediately with compensation. Stop abetting her! Otherwise, I will publish this set of works immediately.”
I paused and said, “If I remember correctly, Grandpa Jessop likes you because of your work.”
That was the weakness of Molly Carter!
She did these things to please James Jessop and make me disappear forever!
Molly Carter was silent on the other side of the phone for a long time before she said, “Okay, then give me the negatives.”
“No way!”I refused immediately.”If I don’t have the negatives, I’m not sure you’ll hurt me or not.”
“Then I won’t do what you say.”
Molly Carter said.
Actually, I was a little nervous at the moment. But I still pretended to be calm and said, “Well, then I’ll publish this and resign from Universe Design Co. LTD. I’ll still be Mrs. Jessop anyway. Daniell Cook will suffer losses. I can use Sean Jessop’s money to compensate Daniell Cook.”
When I finished, there was a long silence on the phone.
I deliberately said, “If you don’t agree, I’ll call Sean Jessop.”
“I see!”
She hung up.
When I returned to the company, Henry’s body was gone and Henry’s wife left.
I thought it was over. But when I returned, many of my colleagues were blocked at the door of Daniell Cook’s office.
I heard Angie say, “She has to resign. If she stays, I’ll leave.”
Other colleagues also said, “I’ll leave, too.”
“It’s over but what about next time? She will bring bad luck to Universe Design Co. LTD!”
“It was published on the Internet. She’ll ruin our company!”
Everybody said one after another. I knew they were talking about me.
This was because of me. Although I had solved it, I couldn’t change its bad influence on the company.
I heard Daniell Cook say, “It’s about the company. It has nothing to do with June Carter.”
“President Cook, you’re shielding her. This is my resignation.”
That was Angie.
Angie was now the top pillar of Universe design co. LTD. After the company’s business resumed, she took over many projects. If she left, these projects would not continue.
I rushed in and said, “I’ll resign.”
“June!”
Daniell Cook looked at me very anxiously.
But colleagues mocked, “June? President Cook and June Carter are in a good relationship.”
“You can marry her to be Mrs. Cook. We still have to work and earn money to support our family.”
“That’s it!”
I was embarrassed by what my colleagues said.
I looked at Daniell Cook, bowed and said respectfully,” President Cook, thank you very much for taking care of me these days. I know it’s about me so whether you agree or not, I’ll resign.”
When I finished, I went back to my office to pick up my bag and wanted to leave.
As soon as I got into the elevator, Daniell Cook came after me.
He grabbed my wrist and I was stunned!
Daniell Cook clutched me tight and apologized.”I’m sorry. I overestimated myself. I’m not strong enough to run a company. I’m a drag on you.”
“Now you should go back and comfort Angie and her colleagues. I can look for another job but a good designer like Angie is really rare.”
If Angie left and Universe Design Co. LTD went bankrupt, I would really feel more guilty.
But Daniell Cook disagreed with me.
He took me downstairs and I stopped him again and again before he went back to the company.
I got a call from Molly Carter downstairs. She told me that she let the Henry family leave. If I tell someone about the design, she wouldn’t let me go!
I hung up without saying anything.
I went home. I looked at the empty room and realized that Sean Jessop was not at home these days.
Suddenly I wondered if he had known it would happen. He was afraid that I would do something against Molly Carter so he watched me specially.
“Are you in a bad mood?”
While I was standing in the living room, I heard Ming Jessop’s voice.
I turned around and saw him standing at the entrance. I couldn’t help being nervous, “How did you get in?”
Ming Jessop smiled.”You forgot to close the door. I thought there was a burglar so I came in.”
I noticed that the door behind him was open.
I apologized to him.”Sorry, I didn’t notice that.”
“It’s all right. You should pay attention to your safety when you live alone. If something happens, you can come to me.”Ming Jessop took out a business card and put it on the shoe cabinet.”This is my business card. If something happens, you can call me anytime.”
After that, he left.
And he closed the door for me.
I stood in front of the window in a daze. I was thinking about Henry’s three children.
Because I came out of the orphanage, I had great sympathy for them.
After a while, I heard the door open behind me. I turned around and saw Sean Jessop standing at the door with a suitcase in his hand.
He saw me, put the suitcase at the door and said, “I’ve been on a business trip for a few days.”
I recalled my previous guess and said to him,” President Jessop, you don’t need to tell me your itinerary.”
