Sean heard his words and said bluntly, “We just pick the right day.”
The man looked at me with a strange expression. Then he handled our marriage licenses directly without any other words.
When I walked out of the civil affairs bureau with my marriage license, Sean suddenly turned his head and said in an unusually cold voice,” June Carter, since you tried your best to marry me, I wouldn’t let you down.”
He said those words in a heavy voice.
It was hot but I got goose bumps.
I was trying to explain when Sean’s driver came from a distance with a bottle of water and a small medicine box in his hand.
Sean Jessop instructed the driver to hand me the water and the medicine box.
I took the medicine box and looked at the scientific name on it. But the small print below briefly panicked me.
It says 24-hour emergency contraception.
I didn’t say anything. And I took the medicine.
Sean Jessop watched me take the medicine and said in a cold voice, “I will watch you take your medicine later, so you don’t expect to get a bastard and then blame me.”
After the man finished speaking, he threw a key to me and got into the car and walked away.
I stood there and watched the car disappear. My heart was full of bitterness.
Thinking of the most important wedding of my life, I did it in my sister’s name. Now I was actually getting a marriage license with Sean Jessop, and he was treating me like an enemy.
I squatted in the corner of the flower bed at the door and bit my lip for a long time.
Then I got up and went back to work.
Life goes on.
In the evening, instead of going back to the wedding room, I went back to Daisy’s house.
Daisy was at home.
She saw that I was unhappy and asked me what was wrong.
After her repeated questioning, I finally told the truth.
When she heard this, she put her chin in one hand and muttered, “Is your grandmother kind to you? Or is she tricking you?”
“She’s good to me.”
I answered firmly.
I believe that even if everyone is not good for me, she must be kind to me.
She thinks Sean Jessop is a good guy so she wants me to marry him.
Daisy nodded. Then she put her arm around my shoulder and said, “Ok, after all, today is also your wedding day. I’ll take you to eat something good. Let’s go.”
Although I was reluctant to spend money, I couldn’t resist her persuasion.
Finally, we chose a mid-range hot pot restaurant.
Not many people eat hot pot on a hot day. There were only a few people in the restaurant when we went in.
We ate hot pot and drank beer.
I didn’t seem to be in such a bad mood after the drink, so we went to the karaoke bar again.
It was past twelve o’clock.
It was not hot, so we walked home.
We were just a few hundred meters from the karaoke when we saw a black car parked on the side of the road.
I immediately recognized the car as Sean Jessop’s.
Since his car is parked here, he should be nearby.
I looked around. Soon I saw Sean walking out of a bar not far away with a woman in his arms.
I didn’t have to look very closely. I knew it was Molly Carter…
Her face was flushed and she seemed to have drunk quite a bit.
When I saw these two men, I was quite sober. The soles of the feet were like lead, and they could not move a step.
How ironic! When I saw my husband for the first time after getting the marriage certificate, it was really another woman in his arms.
What was I about to give up, when Daisy suddenly rushed at them? She gave Sean Jessop a shove and said, “Sean Jessop, how dare you leave your wife alone and hug another woman?!”
