Chapter 699: Your Claud is a little fox.

Book:Devoted Love, Mr. Hayes' Darling Wife Published:2024-6-2

Edward the Third’s eyes, cold and burning, were like fire in the snow, and Claudius Belles was in the end too shallow to see what he was thinking.
Did he suspect her motives? But why, then, had he kissed her so?
Edward the Third raised his hand and reached around behind her, and as soon as he touched the mechanism behind her, a sharp blade a short distance away flew into the wall beside them, and as it struck, Edward the Third visibly felt the little woman in his arms tremble.
He lowered his eyes to her thick lashes that quivered in shock, the lump in his throat rolled as he quietly commanded, “In this studio, there are mechanisms everywhere that could kill you at any moment, and if I hadn’t returned just in time today, you’d probably be a cold corpse right now.”
Claudio Belles bellyaching: If you hadn’t come back, I would have finished cleaning up the scene unscathed …
But at that point, I was clearly disguised as a good kitty, “Yo, I’m never coming in here again.”
“You know what’s wrong?”
The girl is enveloped by the man’s tall, erect body, and all Claudio Belles can smell in this small, narrow space is the crisp, frosty spring cologne of Eduardo Tercero’s body, a scent that is clean and tough, indulgent and soothing.
His voice, moreover, was deeper and softer than his usual indifference, and when she glanced at him unconsciously, she accidentally collided with his line of sight and her heart beat a little faster.
Even with Esteban Zaragosa, the male she knew best, she had never been so close, and that, just now, was her first kiss.
The man failed to acknowledge his mistake and frowned slightly, showing impatience, “You know what’s wrong? Hmm?”
But the tone of voice was full of affection.
The little girl’s thin white face nodded as quickly as she could, “Mr. Eduardo I know I’m wrong.”
Eduardo Tercero sulked and threatened, “If I do it again, I’ll kiss you like I just did, or even do worse, so you better not step on me.”
Claudius Belles hastily held out three fingers and vowed, “I promise never to enter your studio again!”
He had just raised his right arm when Edward the Third saw that the delicate skin had been scraped and was dripping blood from a sharp arrow that had grazed his upper right arm.
The man grabbed her by the wrists and pulled her into his arms.
Claudio Belles thought Eduardo Tercero was going to eat her again, so his left hand unconsciously covered his lips and his watery eyes stared at him as he warned in a shrill voice, “Mr. Eduardo you can’t kiss me anymore! I have learned my mistake.”
A faint smile eventually colored Eduardo Tercero’s brow as he saw that she finally looked a little frightened. “It’s good to know you’re scared.”
The man took her arm, examined the wound and said in a grave voice, “It’s not a serious wound, it needs to be bandaged.”
Only then did Claudius Belles realize that she was hurt. She had been so nervous in the emergency that she had not even noticed the pain of the sharp arrow in her arm.
When they reached the room downstairs, Eduardo Tercero asked Julian to hand him the first aid kit.
Eduardo Tercero took a small porcelain bottle with a blue and white base out of the medicine cabinet and poured some powdered medicine on the wound, and in a moment there was a cold tingle and the girl frowned slightly from the pain.
Edward the Third applied the medicine to her as he noticed the slightest change in her expression, “Does it hurt?”
“A little.”
“It’s good to know it hurts.”
“…”
Claudio Belles unconsciously looked at Eduardo Tercero; was he really in no doubt about his motives for entering his study?
Eduardo Tercero healed her wounds with deft movements and tortured her unhurriedly. “But I’m curious, how did you dodge those flying knives?”.
When she opens the door and the identifier realizes she is not the owner, the first organ she will sweep up are those rows of flying knives, but she clearly has no signs of having been injured by them.
It was almost difficult for an unarmed eighteen year old girl without a bit of skill to dodge those flying daggers.
Eduardo Tercero looked at her with a look of questioning and inquiry, suspicious after all.
Claudio Belles played it cool and muttered, with a hint of pout and aggression in his voice, “I was scared to death, but somehow I managed to dodge and roll on the ground several times, rolling all over the place.”
“That’s right.” Eduardo Tercero grunted softly, not sure if he really believed it or not.
Claudio Belles took the opportunity to divert the conversation, her watery eyes staring at him with pure clarity as she asked, “Mr. Eduardo, why do you have so many dangerous things installed in your studio, what if it suddenly doesn’t work and launches an attack on you, the master? Aren’t you afraid?”
Eduardo Tercero stared at her, a lively little face that was really pretty, bewitching and innocent in her gaze, but Eduardo Tercero always felt that this found kitten was not as well-behaved as she seemed, but was actually wild and dangerous.
But the more this happens, the more she arouses the man’s interest and desire for conquest.
Edward the Third finished bandaging her wound and wrapped his large hand around the back of her neck, his handsome face pressed against hers, “Claud, curiosity will kill the cat.”
Claudio Belles brushed his red lips, “I am not a cat.”
Eduardo Tercero raised an eyebrow at the sight of her haughty little face; what kind of attitude is this for a girl who is a parasite?
It is true, however, that she is not a kitten.
“Well, you’re the little fox.”
Claudius Belles: “…”
Is this a call to her treachery and cunning?
Eduardo Tercero had already stood up and was walking towards the second floor, dropping the words to those coming behind: “In the future, remember to knock before entering my studio.”
Claudius Belles is increasingly puzzled, not only does he not suspect her, but he agrees to let her into his study? Wasn’t he afraid that she would steal some confidential document?
However, now that she was on his turf, if she stole anything, she probably wouldn’t be able to get away with it.
Claudio Belles slumped on the sofa, bored, thinking what was the point of the Ming organization sending her incognito, and with his ears especially clear, Master Orlondo Marta saying that he had to romance Eduardo Tercero to have a chance to capture all his weaknesses.
He looked at the bandage on his right arm, which was beautifully and neatly wrapped with a white bandage still tied with a ribbon.
She had no idea that Edward the Third was such a big man but still had a girl’s heart.
